Illegal Gambling in Appalachia

Anyone see this on Newscenter 5 at 11pm tonight? Apparently, an illegal gambling ring was cracked today in Appalachia. Showed state troopers on the scene and Tim McAfee stating that the ring had been thwarted. Had a few (4 I think) names of the persons accused...won't mention them here. What else can happen to poor ol' Appy?

I was at a party tonight. One of the "participants" in the whole Appy voter fraud scam was there and he was talking about the big bust in Appy today. I think he said they raided 4 places.

I recognized one place they showed on there...pretty much know what went on there....last thing that town needs is any more negative publicity.

Not that it is right. But it happens in all these small towns. Im sure right now some one can name several places they know in the area that they live in.
Like i said all small towns have them. Appy's is just bigger now due to other problems.
I wouldn't look for it to end any time soon. And when it does end in Appy. Well some other town out there will be next.
If anything Appy is just the starting point. I don't think Appy will be the end though.
But i'd say every town will get a taste of some of it, before this crack down is over with.
I think what you are gonna see, is a county wide clean up of internal affairs, within the towns and communities. To me this is to send a message. Corruption at any point, will be dealt with.
And i'd look for other counties to jump on board. And i would say some may already be doing their own investigations.
Like i said Appy ain't the only town. And we all know that.
Just my opinion. But we'll see.

I dont see whats wrong with gambling personally, I gamble nearly everday. The only reason they bust places like this is because they are not getting tax dollars off it. They should stop drug dealers, drunk drivers, assaults, and other crimes instead of worrying about John down the street buying race tickets off a tip board.

agreed.

did this happen saturday? .. i know my dad works in appy in the mines, and he said he was coming through appy around 1 and said there were state police EVERYWHERE

It really sounds like they are piling on Appalachia. Next they will bust the Bingo at the Fire Dept. or something. Let's talk conspiracy for a moment. Do you think Appy might be annexed out of existance due to all the controversies? Just seems convenient that everything is going bad all at once. Couple that with the past worries about consolidating schools. I know this is out there, but the coffee hit me the right way this morning.
